How 3-Minutes of Red Light Therapy a Week Can Improve Your Eyesight

Red light therapy is gaining popularity. More people are bringing red lights into their homes and using them for smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, improving collagen production, reducing pain and inflammation, and even speeding up healing.

I have personally been using red light therapy to improve my thyroid function with incredible results. But one trend is getting mixed reviews. Rather than keeping their eyes closed, many people are finding that opening their eyes during a quick 3-minute session in the morning is helping their eyesight.

While most people wear goggles and are still closing their eyes during a red light session, research shows that something as simple as a 3-minute red light session on your eyes once a week in the morning can significantly improve your eyesight.

If you're somebody who's wondering if this trend could benefit you, this episode will take a quick look at the latest research, and then you can decide for yourself.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • How I got into red light therapy

  • Data behind red light therapy benefits

  • Why your eyesight declines

How I Got Into Red Light Therapy

I've been doing red light therapy sessions for a year and a half now. I was doing a consultation with my friend who is a naturopath, and she mentioned she was going to an appointment because her prescription for her eyeglasses had changed, and she needed to change her prescription. She was going to get new glasses. I said, “Oh, is your eyesight getting worse?” She said, “No, it actually improved.”

I was shocked! She said she was doing red light therapy with her eyes open in the morning. She shared the research with me, and I was very interested in how red light impacts eyesight.

I think my story is probably pretty common. Once we hit 40, our eyesight declines. This is so true for me. I have always had 20/20 perfect vision. I've never had anything wrong with my vision. I can see perfectly far and perfectly near. But literally, when I woke up on my 40th birthday, I went into my kitchen and pulled out a supplement that I was taking every morning. I turned it around to look at the label, and it was blurry. I couldn't believe it! I was like, “Why can't I see this?!”

Over the next year, it slowly got worse. I became that person who would look at my phone and would squint to read the text. I started changing my settings to make the text bigger. I kept thinking, “My eyesight is just going to degenerate.

I was already doing red light therapy for my thyroid, but after reading the data, I’ve been doing morning red light sessions and can’t wait to see if it helps! Stay tuned… I’ll keep you updated.

Listen to the episode to learn all about the data behind how red light therapy can improve your eyesight, along with a lot of other benefits to your health!
